The Move is Over!

Whew!  Ok, just about the time I was getting comfortable and catching my breath, we decided to move DML from our current location!  As of September 15th, you may now visit us at our new location at 3444 W. Loop 289.  (that's the West Loop and 34th, on the access road just past Quality Inn.)  We are hopefully going to have the final installation of our new sign up by next Monday.  It should be ready sometime this week. 

Some of the new changes at our new location are a bigger workroom and a separtae classroom.  Now, the workroom will be available for cropping at all times during our normal business hours.  No more closing it off during classes!  However, we are looking for MORE tables!  While we do have a few leads on purchasing several more, if anyone knows of a church, school etc, looking to upgrade, we would be interested in looking at what they may have.  We are interested in the 6' banquet style table.  We can work with them if they are a bit damaged as well. 

While the AccuCut die cut machines are not in the workroom any longer, you can still use them!  Just ask an associate and we will be happy to check you in! 

We have added several new schools to our custom school wall!  If you have not checked this wall out yet, come ask us about it!  We will add more schools soon!  Let us know if you want your school to be on the wall!  It will take a little time, but I'll send out an e-mail as soon as new ones are added!

Keep posted: We are working on getting more classes offered to you as well!  Stop by the store to pick up a calendar! 

New items are arriving almost daily now!  With the holidays fast approaching, you will want to get first dibs on the hottest styles that you can't get just anywhere!

Fresh & Funky from QuicKutz is here!!!!!!

  Well, we have received the very latest from QuicKutz.  Talk about cute!  This release reminds me of the 1970's.  Kind of Rainbow Bright meets the Smurfs.  LOL!  It is super cute and fun with anime birds, trees, mushrooms, shooting stars, Nesting Stars (Finally), speech bubbles, a monkey, 3 borders and a super kool alphabet.  You need to come by before they are gone, 'cause they never last long! 

  We are still getting new product in evey day!  If you like vintage, then you will love the new papers form Graphic 45.  Also, we received a cute spring line from cloud 9.  You wanted more Sports, well we are stocked with lots of new sports papers from Scrappin' Sports & more.  Bowling, Karate, Swimming, T-Ball, Gymnastics, Volleyball, Baseball, Basketball & more.  We even have playground and gameroom papers with matching rub-ons.  Dare you to come ask an associate for "tether ball paper."  If you are low on alphabet stickers, then you will want to check out our new products from American Crafts.  We have alphas in foam, vinyl, GLITTER and puffy ones too!  AC also delivered journaling pens and utility pens!  (utility pens are the red eye, pet eye, vanishing ink and ph testing)

  Ok, you have the scoop!  If you have not been by the store this week, we have a sweet deal for you!  In celebration of National Chocolate Week, we are allowing you to draw for a discount out of our candy bucket!  You may draw a discount and you may not, but you will get a piece of chocolate!  After we total up your goodies, ask our cashier for your chocolate kiss or hug!  You will receive the discount that is labeled on your candy!  This discount can't be combined with any other discount or coupon.

  Have you heard of the hottest new product from Ten Seconds Studio?  Our wonderful Rep. for Bo Bunny and Ten Seconds Studio, Christy Gilbreath will be coming to DML on Friday Night, April 3rd to teach about this wonderful new product and show us some new techniques.  The class size is limited to 12!  If you are interested in attending, stop by the store to see the 2 page layout you will be making that night.  Cost is $35 and will be from 6-8pm. Each student will learn basic techniques on how to use Ten Seconds Studio products on their pages as well as receive tools in their class kit for future use!  I can see lots of cute new home decor items coming out of this in the future!  We will have a list of supplies you will need to bring for this class at the store when you sign up.  This class is geared for the more advanced scrapbooker/crafter.  

                      

                                           

                

              

                

Just Catching My Breath!

  Oh my goodness!!  Ok, we have literally jumped into the Retail world here lately with my parents purchasing my favorite small business here in Lubbock.  Previously known as Down Memory Lane, DML Scrapbooks, Inc. became real to us on March 1st!  Laura and Emily have worked very hard the last 2 weeks (and then some) training me for what lies ahead.  If I seem a bit "frazzled" when you have come into the store or have spoken to me over the phone.......this is why.  At some point things just stop entering the brain!  I kindly asked them to start throwing things at me with sticky dots, so maybe I would remember stuff later.  Well, I have resorted to texting them on occasion.  (Thanks gals!)  They have been super patient with me.

  Ok, the Good Stuff!  A few of the new products we received over the last week are: 3 Bugs in a Rug, a very cute Boy and Girl line, both of which I re-ordered today as well as 2 of their other lines including their "happy bird-day" and cute "home" line.  Heart of Texas Studio Word Books, (lots of options there!) and a new line for DML, My Little Shoebox.  This line is very cute, springy and  nearly gone already!  We have also received QuicKutz on a daily basis since last Friday.  Oh, and last but not least........cardstock is in!!  along with some new paper flowers in some fun new shapes and colors.   I did have a sneak peek of what is to come at the end of March, beginning of April from QuicKutz!  I placed an order this evening for those hot little surprises!!!! 

  Since I have been back in "the cave" for the last few weeks ordering and learning tricks of the trade, our main focus for DML will be bringing our inventory up a bit more.  Please be patient with us while we are making the transition to all of the new changes for us and you all!  I plan to order things both old and new.  I want to hear from you all as well.  I know we won't be able to fill all orders, but I'd like to come close!  It will just take some time, but please, keep us informed!  I am here for you all too......not just ME!  I am thankful for each one of you as loyal customers to Down Memory Lane in the past and hope we continue to be your favorite small business here in Lubbock for the future!  Stay plugged in with the store and the blog.  We are beginning to see product come in a little more each day.  I am still working on finding a balance so that I can keep up with e-mails, bloggs, orders, and sneak out of the back office a little more to visit with you too.  You will be seeing a few new faces at the store as well.  My parents, the actual new owners, will be in and out helping with what they know and giving their input.  I will be the manager/purchaser.  Again, thank you all for your support and confidence in me as we try to bring you the best in your favorite hobby!  Scrap-On!!
